Preview pane and viruses (outlook express)

Is it still possible to get a virus (vbscript) by using the preview pane in Outlook Express or has that been patched?

I'm asking because I kinda miss using it, haven't used it in over a year.

Yes I have A/V (norton) but was playing it safe.

my thoughts too. but even if it doesn't, i don't want to see huge adds for some of the spam i get when family members walk by. it's really shameful what sleazy advertisers will do with email.
