I did a search and noticed this wasn't up yet, so I thought bring it to everyone's attention....

Update: Guild Wars is up and running right now! Stop reading this and go play!

Thanks for the info. A buddy of mine mentioned this game to me the other day and peaked my interest. He's trying to get me back into mmorpgs since I've been disappointed as of late with what's out there.

Back into mmorpgs? Heh... this will be my first.... 😱

Chances are, you'll get addicted then 5 - 12 months will pass, you'll have no friends anymore and your free time will be consumed with fighting epic battles vs monsters, then you'll realize "Hey, I've just been clicking a button over and over..." and stop playing. 5 months after you get your friends back, they'll release an expansion pack and you'll start again. Rinse Repeat.

Not talking from experience, just got hooked on DAoC and lost much of my free time to it.

I dont really think GW is a MMO...
its more like diablo on battlenet...
I played it during the E3 world debut...
and it is a great little game...
it will not have a monthly fee and everything is pretty much instanced zones so youll never be around an MMO amount of people in 1 place...
its very similar to the way diablo did things..

Yeah, from what I understand, there will be a large town where everyone can gather. The only people you will interact with (hunt, etc.) outside of the town will be those you leave with. So if you leave town in a group of 5, then you'll only be with those 5 people the entire time you're outside of the town.

Definately not like the true MMORPG, but still fun nonetheless.

Seems interesting and it's free. Of course you have to pay for the game, but no monthly fees.
