Hey there,

I would like to know how can I find how much my grandma's motherboard can hold memory of ram? She lost her manual book of her motherboard. Is there any software that can find how much motherboard can hold on Mhz, ram and others? All I know that she got two SDRAM of 32megs and it's PC-100, which is total 64mb ram.

Regards,

Is it intel or amd system? What speed? From that we could get a GENERAL idea of the chipset.

As long as it is like pentium 2 range, it can PROBABLY hold 128 in each slot. Any more is risking it. Be sure NOT to get high density ram, you need low density for an older PC to recognize it.

464Mhz PIII, 40.2 gigs, 64ram, 300watts of power supply, 32mb videocard (Rival TNT Ultra II), 64x CD-ROM and CD-RW Teac 16x10x40. Also, it's Windows 2000 Professional. It has three slots for ram and four or five PCI. I would like to around 256ram or 384ram for it.

I would try motherboards.org. Try out the MoboCop link in the top left. This will try to help you identify the motherboard through numbers printed on it. Then if that works, either bring the results back here or check out vendor information online.
