edit: it's not accurate, there should be an illustration of a big cliff that the budget truck is about to drive off of called 'social security'

edit2: why is california getting more construction money from iraq/afghanistan budget than afghanistan is?

edit3: wtf is the millenium challenge corporation? it's budget would make it the 653rd largest company in america.

Why is that wherever I move on the map, I see Military, Navy, Security etc. It seems like 3/4 of that image is for Military/Security purposes only.

Sorry, I know that this is not P&N but still......

ss is only non-discretionary in that it functions without an annual budget bill. congress could refuse to stop paying it tomorrow and not owe anyone a cent.

for a minute I thought it had to do something with the millenium challenge war games run by USJFCOM in 2002, but then my international econ classes kicked in:

The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is a United States Government corporation designed to work with some of the poorest countries in the world. Established in January 2004, MCC is based on the principle that aid is most effective when it reinforces good governance, economic freedom and investments in people. MCC?s mission is to reduce global poverty through the promotion of sustainable economic growth.

It illustrates how much the military-industrial complex has grown since Eisenhower warned us of its dangers decades ago.

What a colossal sinkhole.
