Pretty General Temp Advice

Just looking for some pretty general temperature advice and tips. What is an appropriate range for a cpu temp? I have a pheonm II x6 1055T at stock with stock cooler. under Prime 95 it hit 70C, which according to CoreTemp is the Tj. Max for the chip.

This is bad. I know I need to find a new solution in the form of a decent cooler, but what kind of temperatures should I be aiming for? What is typical under load?

Thanks

50-55C would be a good target temp to shoot for under load. You can probably achieve that with a cheap 212 Evo. Are you looking to OC?

No OC with the current rig. I don't want to damage my hardware though.

I was thinking about getting something that would also fit haswell socket. I'm intending to upgrade to that socket at some point - not necessarily on launch but eventually.
