Pretend for a minute that I'm really rich and want to watch movies on the day they premeire in my house...

Do you need a license or something to buy the film reels that they play movies from in theaters? If I built a 50 seat theater in my backyard with the proper projector and had 100s of thousands of dollars lying around, where would I buy, say, a copy T3 and have it delivered on July 1st?

I would assume you'd need some sort of licenses, and stuff to make sure that if you copied it you'd get your a$$ sued...

i think you just have to pay the costs associated with buying the reel, and probably sign some agreement.

i doubt you could do that.....

we have to get copies of movies for some of the projects we have and there are so many hoops u have to jump thorugh ..id say your chances are very slim...there is no way theyd approve you for a recent release film...they wouldnt want that getting out to the general public


then again we are getting digital copies which can be copied...but id think it stil very hard for you to get approved

im sure its possible but you have to remmber who your talking about...the same people that want to stand in your house behind you as ur on your computer to stop you from dowloading movies at your house and are afraid you will cut into their bottom line..so yeah they have very very strict rules...but like i said im only stating my work's situation...so you never know

You'd probably have to be a real theatre, so just start your own company. But sometimes movies can only be shown if you agree to show it for a certain amount of time at your theatre. And the movie production company is supposed to get a cut of the profits. not sure how that would really work.

im pretty sure they do back ground checks as well as periodlically audit you to see if their procedures are being followed

im gonna guess if you paied all the peopel you needed to then yes. im sure bill gates and all thoes rich mofos can get movies like that. they all seem to build theaters in there houses
