I bought a Sun Joe SPX3000 electric pressure washer and used it to wash my car. I blasted the brake dust off my wheels without and soap. Dried on bird poop was also not a problem. And I barley used any water after I finished washing my entire car.

make sure you don't pressure wash any paint chipping away, or you'll make it worse.

Been thinking of picking up an electric pressure washer but can't decide if I should or not. I plan on using it to spray down my sidewalk and house as well as wash cars etc. Will an electric one do the job or should I spring for a gas powered?

Washing cars and house, electric is good enough. You don't have to deal with noise, d exhaust fumes, and maintenance.

If you are stripping paint then a gas one will probably be better.

I just bought a pressure washer a couple of weeks ago to clean my patio blocks. They had moss growing in the joints, so I blasted them clean. I was barefoot and the rocks and junk kept getting all over me, so I squirted my foot really quick...

...big mistake. I had skin hanging :(

I would like a gentle one for cleaning my vehicle. I don't really own anything that would benefit from a deep scrub of extremely high water PSI

Yet some use them to wash cars with delicate clearcoat and paint jobs.

I would never use a PW to wash a car that I cared about.

If your car still has the factory paint job, it will be fine.

If you had it repainted with the $200 Maaco special then yeah, the paint will probably come off with a pressure washer.

Get the pressure high enough, like 60,000 psi, and water will not only strip flesh it can cut through inches of steel. Of course to go through something like steel they tend to put garnet or similar small hard particles in the water.

I got this "As Seen on TV" thing from Fry's the other day called the TurboJet. Its a pressure washer simulator you put on the end of your hose. Thing works good for cleaning cars and washing down the patio type stuff. I have no need for the really high pressure ones, but they're still kinda awesome, as noted in the OP.

And some understand that unless you've bought the shittiest pressure washer on Earth you have a variety of settings and attachments that make them perfectly safe for paint.

You can also use them to discipline your woman.

I guess it's good that only a small fraction of the population have pressure washers.

I have an electric one I use for my house. It's rather weak though honestly. It's good for getting loose dirt off house, car, outside furniture, but otherwise useless.

I'd want a high PSI one for clearing up weeds and moss out of my patio/walkway.

Guess I bought the shittiest one then. I bought it probably 8-9 years ago at least from Home Depot. Its a 2300 psi gas powered unit and it works great. Loaned it out half a dozen times to family and friends who needed to use one and its always worked when I needed it also to blast grease and grime off an engine, clean the driveway, wash down the house, or whatever. It has no setting other than a quick turn at the end of the nozzel to change it from wide mode to razor thin skin cutting mode.
