Why does a murdered pregnant woman make the headlines 24/7 for weeks on end? Who really cares? So she died..... thousands of people everyday die, but do they get news coverage? No.

Why does the media lock onto certain stories, and not others?

Also, why didn't the police know that the husband did it right off the bat? It's always the husband/boyfriend..... duh.

You know around the same time there was another disapearance of a pregnant bay area woman, and that has been completly ignoored even though its pretty much the same case. My idea is that lacy and her husband are more visualy appealing thus easyer to sell as a news story?

Its all about ratings and making money... the news today is so violent and biased why even watch? When was the last time you saw in the news where someone got married, or some kid won an award for school, or someone had a baby??

Was she rich? I think thats why Elizabeth smart got so much attention..
think about it, there are hundreds of kids abducted never to be found.
if they got the attention she did, maybe they could be found also.

but then theres no time to show all the disappeared children, so only some lucky ones get alot of media attention..

It's not about Fair and Blancvd, it's about Hysterical and Sensationalistic..well at least in FOX's case. They have the ratings so you really can't knock them for their Yellow Journalism!

It gets attention and "the feeling of grief" across it's audiences...

If you ask me, I think they should just show 70% of the good things that go on in the world, and leave the rest of the %30 for bad stuff. But hell, you know that wouldn't work. Media thrives off of tragedy. If there wasn't grief and tragedy, there would be no CNN.
