"PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT??????"

I've pieced together a p3 667 with an asus p3x4v and as far as I get is the "press a key to reboot" message every time I start up. Any ideas why this is happening? I have a boot disk in the floppy but it doesnt seem to be reading it. any suggestions??????

It probably doesn't sense a boot device - is your boot device sequence correct in the BIOS?

thanx a lot! i got it working! i changed the order of the boot devices and booted from cd. it was def. my floppy. for some reason its not reading it. but thats another headache altogether!

Make sure that you have the floppy cable around the right way. Just about everyone puts it around the wrong way the 1st time....😀

I was having the exact same problem with the exact same setup. It too turned out to be my floppy. I think I just had it hooked up backwards. All works great now though.

Yeah, I've turned around more than one floppy cable and wondered why the drives didn't work 😀 They should fix that somehow
