I'll probably get b1tched at for not putting this in P&N but this is such a general question I thought it would be safe here :)

Anyway, with what we know so far about the candidates which way will you be voting? Is there a candidate that really grabs you and with whom you agree or will you just be voting to keep someone you strongly disagree with out of the White House?

For myself, based on what I've seen I'll probably be going with the lesser of two evils :(

I was sick for a couple of days, when did we find out who the Democratic candidate will be?

We haven't yet, although it's pretty much set in stone now that the Democrats are screwed with algore endorsing Dean. It doesn't get any 'lefter' than that.

Oops, I forgot the "I'll be flipping a coin in the voting booth" option. Sorry about that :p

Wheres the "I'm choosing the presidential candidate that I agree more with" option?

I'm sure #2 and #3 will get lots of votes... typical of the whiney American public.

Actually I knew that.
It's pretty hard to answer a poll like this without knowing who is running.

Answer edited to be a bit more encompassing :)

Cyberian: I thought about that but I figure Bush vs. Dean is a pretty safe bet.

I'd rather have a libertarian minded, religiously neutral candidate. But with the present choices it looks like Bush will have to do. I disagree with the socialist, anti-business policies of the Democrat party and that issue trumps most others in my life right now.

Well, I don't choose the lesser of two evils. I choose the candidate that i like the best. Last election it was Ralph Nader. To all people who say that voting for a third party is wasting your vote since they aren't going to win anyhow, i say, too bad. It's my decision.

Doesn't matter. Bush will carry Indiana.

Maybe my vote would count if the American political system would pull its head out of its ass, but that won't happen.

your vote would never matter in any election anywhere. 1 vote means nothing. the only way to make a difference is to go out and convince other people to vote the way you want them to.

also, i could never vote for a socialist so i don't even recognise any democrats as being on the ballot. i'm a libertarian but they never win anything.

and why isn't this in the political forum?

My vote could count if we had a popular vote. It could be 20,000,000 to 20,000,001. Now, however, there is no point. There is no way that Bush won't carry Indiana.

last time I checked, there has never ever been an election won based on one vote so whatever you pick does not matter whatsoever...seriously

Last time you checked? Do you check this often?

Here:

1645 - One Vote gave Oliver Cromwell control of England.
1649 - One Vote caused Charles I of England to be executed.
1776 - One Vote game America the English language instead of German.
1876 - One Vote changed France from a monarchy to a republic.
1876 - One Vote Rutherford B. Hayes the Presidency of the United States.
1923 - One Vote gave Adolph Hitler leadership of the Nazi party.
1941 - One Vote saved Selective Service just weeks before Pearl Harbor.

what if it was a sham with Hitler vs. Himmler?

would you have voted for the 'lesser of 2 evils' or not voted at all?
