A Nebraska woman has sold a three-year-old McDonald’s Chicken McNugget that resembles President George Washington for $8,100 on eBay.
The Sioux City Journal in Iowa says bidding ended just after 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Rebekah Speight of Dakota City sold the McNugget to raise money for a drive to raise $15,000 and send 50 children to summer church camp in Sioux City.

Speight says her children didn’t eat the chicken during a McDonald’s visit three years ago. She was about to toss it, then spotted Washington’s resemblance. Speight stashed the McNugget in her freezer.
eBay had temporarily taken down the auction last month because it violated rules regulating expired food.
She later received an email saying the site was “willing to make exceptions to help your cause.”

The first rule of ebay:
people will buy anything

I saw a broken first or second generation 8GB iPod touch go for $380 on eBay a couple of weeks ago.
I also saw on the tonight show, a plain cardboard box go for $500.

If it wasn't pointed out in the picture I never would have seen the resemblance.

It's usually some entity who is looking to write this off as a marketing expense.

lol wow, how sad. Reminds me of the Jesus toast. You have to have a pretty huge imagination to see these things in something.

I wonder if the nugget could be warmed up and eaten. Those things don't really expire.

The buyer is probably an Obama Fan, they will buy anything! :p

no, the buyer was a Jesus freak, because they wanted to help sind kids to Jesus summer school.

yeah, dumber than Obama fans.

oh wait--so you're either going to have to change your course and lose the opportunity to insult scary libruls, or stay true and accept that you have insulted a jesus freak.

what do, what do...

:hmm:

I looked at it and thought "lol, they got something out of order, with Lincoln's brow ridge labeled as a nose, the nose labeled as a chin, and his beard as clothing."

I thought that, too.

Then I realized that it's supposed to be Washington, went away, looked at the nugget again and thought, "Damn--that does look like Washington! with the arrows pointing it out."...but I guess only a true nutter would realize that on a cursory glance just before tossing it into the dustbin.
