@dagamer34: I was responding to your "uselesness" argument of multi-cores on desktop which you brought up. When it comes to phones, I stated my uncertainty.

Eh? I never used the word "useless". What I did say was that there's a reason why consumer desktop CPUs haven't gone past 4 cores, because they rarely do heavily multi-threaded stuff (and that's where the bulk of the market is).

I thought web browsing is a prime example of multi-core possibility. Doesn't Chrome spawn a new thread per tab?

Desktop Chrome does.
Android Chrome does not AFAIK.
