Sort of like Chirac selling nuclear reactors to Iraq.

True, but there's something to be said of Musharraf not being Ghaddafi's or Kim Il's buttbuddy for decades. Like geeks said, some allies.

The Europeans did it for money. Do you really think the US of the 80s was hurting for cash? There is no explaining away anyone giving any kind of weapon to NK.

First, it was the government, second, it was done as military aid to (here's that damn saying again) "the lesser of two evils." So yes, you are correct in a way, it was a kind of charity.

I was going by a program that seemed pretty accurate, but you're right, and I was wrong. Did a few searches which back up that list up. My apologies. What was your source btw?

I'd say that the knowledge that it occurs/occured is common to many, but the specific companies is not.

What is WMD equipment? It's not like everything has a single use or purpose in the world. I would think many of these companies (from many countries) are unfairly being targeted.

If it's an European company, it's WMD related
if it is an American company, it's not WMD related

I doubt it.

Another case of a European ignoring the rest of the world. Why are you excluding all other countries? Or do you think that they all live in mud huts and therefore have no form of technology?

Europeans are morally inferior, hence everytime they sell anything to any despotic regime, it is a weapon or something to make a weapon. And the weapon always is a weapon of mass destruction. Americans are morally superior, hence everytime they sell something to a despotic regime it is an act of charity, like a gas centrifuge that makes baby formula, or antrax cultures to aid foreign scientists in creating cures for AIDS, or aluminum tubes to construct hospitals out of.

Pakistan is a nominal ally, at best. If they didn't have the luck of being so close to Afghanistan, they'd be on the axis of evil list.
