Maybe Bush can buy a few more "coalition members" while at the UN next Tuesday.

After all, he's asking for another $87 billion without bothering to tell anyone what the money is being used for.

Must be the "coalition of the billing."

President downbeat on a U.N. resolution

"President Bush has abandoned hope for approval of a U.N. resolution on Iraq before he speaks to the General Assembly on Tuesday, and will pursue face-to-face diplomacy in New York in an effort to persuade more nations to help secure and rebuild the shattered nation."

Heh - good link BOBDN. Lots of GOOD news and info in there. Nice try on the spin though - the UN will(except France- maybe) approve a US led stance in Iraq - to that there is no doubt.

Read the rest of the stuff BOBDN - can you spin those into doom and gloom too?

oops - misunderstood your post;)

Well look at about the only one who is still "anti-US". That would be France. Germany has come to it's senses, as has Russia...to a point. There is room for compromise - France just doesn't look to be willing;) I'm hopefull that they will be though :D

Compromise, huh

What significant (note that) authority is Bush willing to give up? Love to know the details

Operation Tin Cup II?

PS, CkG send me 10k right now. I'll find something worthwhile to do with it. Thanks.

Actually, Bush should pucker-up and pursue his face :lips: to their #SS diplomacy!

Cuz that's exactly what Bush is going to do a lot of to get anyone to even consider the possiblity to put money or time into his sham!

I already read the "rest of the stuff" CkG. And I knowingly posted the link with it included.

I'd say some of it is good news. Rebuilding the Iraqi police will get the Bush administration the hell out of Iraq ASAP. Or should I say it will remove one of their excuses for staying.

Just as the French and Germans want. No argument from me there. We shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place.

Bush knows that the newly trained Iraqi police may one day well turn on what the US has tried to do.

He will train "enough" police so that he can get out of Iraq, and take all the glory for it, yet will distance himself from it when the police turn on what the US has done there.

We see this kinda thing all the time in politics, and I'll bet'ya this is exactly what happens, and what Bush's Regime knows what will happen, to this Iraqi situation. And Bush won't care, cuz he had iraq "cleansed" at one time. lol

Please do share what France is demanding. Does that sound "reasonable" to you? Can it be accomplished in that time frame?

Now please tell me who needs to budge. The US will compromise to make this work...we just have limits;)

PS - I don't have 10K sitting around, I'm just a poor working serf. Guess you are SOL :D

Did anybody stop and think that France might have their own problems to worry about, or does the entire world have to stop on a dime just because we need help?

Your right France does have its problems to worry about. But why should it keep UN member nations from helping(the ones that need the UN resolution for political cover)
