Considering the general election is 13 months away, i think we'll have time to get used to it if he wins. That's still a pretty big "if" at this point though. I'm not a Democrat and he's not my favorite in the Democratic field of candidates, but he's a plausible candidate at least. Unlike Al Sharpton, Dennis Kucinich, or some of the other whacks running.

I believe we are still experiencing resistance sir, hence the oil flow being sabotaged and our soldiers getting killed on a daily basis.

Maybe you should tell the Iraqi's killing us that the war is over.

Dean may look good now but by the time the Republicans get through reordering your opinion of him through a multi multi million dollar defamation campaign you won't want him anywhere near your daughter.

In order to fix our society we need to get money out of speech. But money will spend whatever it takes to prevent that from happening. The only kind of politics Americans can have is what they deserve. Americans feel and act as if what they deserve is SH! T. In the external world we recreate our inner nightmare.

when dean reportedly spoke favorably about bush he began to look interesting in my eyes -for taking a position to the right. but then he proceeded to take it all back and criticize him. and then he campaigned with gray davis, ugh. now he's just another libral democrat in my eyes singing the some ol tune. kinda makes me want to puke.

Dean is so far left he could be an extra finger next to my left pinky. No way he gets to the whitehouse. The majority of the voters won't go for Deans brand of government(socialism).

War time thinking leans toward war time folks. A General seems about as war time as you can get. Both the right and left can relate to Clark. Anyone can reject Bush at this point... Bush is too far right and has isolated himself from the middle ground. IMO

edit: he visits the VA Hosp and says 'we gotta do more here' then promptly directs cuts to the VA budget... odd thinking, it seems to me.

Dean is not left wing, no matter how hard the rightwingers try to paint him that way. Bush is a rightwinger, no question. Dean is more of Bill Clinton democrat. If that's left wing, then the US is too.

If you have a constant barometer for political ideology perhaps but, I suggest the scale shifts and folks shift with it. Back and forth. Kennedy might be called a right of center fellow and Reagan a bit further right where as Bush the younger would be even further right.. Am I making sense? :) (he gives Cad an opening...:))

There are plenty of doctors.. there is too many poor. Poor folks can't or won't pay the fees. Sorta like oranges. If the price of oranges rose to $50 each we'd not see too much orange juice on the table.. I don't think.
Lets fix the rates MD's can charge. Like the utilities or milk..

Getting a tad off on a tangent with this doctor stuff, but there are many concerns which need to be addressed in the healtcare/insurance feild.:)

As to your previous post though...
Actually no, I think Reagan was a tad further to the right than what the Current Bush is, if "right"=Conservative, or even if you consider it to mean Republican. But there is a point to what you say - the current Democrats are trying to lay claim to the "middle", but their ideals and platforms haven't changed from being left, just like the current Republicans haven't strayed much from their platform while trying to woo the "middle", except for this awful Prescription Drug benefit plan, which many seniors don't want and the Democrats want to make much larger than the "Bush Plan". It is a big mistake for Bush to say "send anything to my desk and I'll sign it" in regarsds to this Prescription issue.

*************

That's what I think I mean.. The issues supported by one side or the other define their position on the scale of politics. What use to be a 'right' issue that moves to being supported by the 'left' tends to move the supporters toward 'right' by the 'big scale holder in the sky'.
When the platform of the 'left', for instance adopts a plank that was 'right' supported they get termed 'middle'. It seems that everything ought to be middle with only the means to get it done moved left or right..

Lets fix the amount one can sue these doctors for. Then you'd see the prices fall greatly. Get rid of lawyers and then the world would be a better place. :)

Yes! I'd agree totally with that. The attorneys are simply facilitators of their clients rights.. they are not bad people... just advocates.. :D

Ughh... we tried that in Oregon. Had a doctor for governor for 8 years. At first it seemed to be working, but his poor financial management has our state swimming in red ink with high unemployment, a depressed economy, massive budget cuts, closed schools, and the highest state income taxes in the country.

That has nothing to do with Dean's record in VERMONT.

Meh...I wouldn't want Dean as President. He's to busy trying to please people. Taking whatever side that can get him some extra votes. So far all I've heard come out of his mouth is things people want to hear. He doesn't really appear to stand for anything (Bush atlest stands for something even though his neo-con buddies are leading him to the extremism way of thinking). And seeing as I wouldn't vote for Bush, Clark seems like the only semi desent choice for now (Can't say I like the guy very much though)

In short, all the current people running "suck" to put it simply.
