President Carter has passed.

Flags will fly at half mast for the next 30 days, which will include January 20th.

Carter's post-Presidency greatness continues.

Been kinda dreading this but also welcoming it. 100. Resolved to be happy over a life well lived by a real hero, that he got the run he did, and that he's reached the peace of no longer having to struggle.

Thank you Jimmy Carter, will always remember how you left the Southern Baptists like a boss. RIP

His Voyager 1 message

IMO the most respected President in my lifetime. Stellar human being, honest, had the countries best interest at heart.

Worked his ass off even after losing the election to get the Iran hostages released. Did yeoman's work after leaving office with Habitat for Humanity. The epitome of a real Christian not the phonies that claim it today.

The polar opposite of what is about to infest the office on Jan 20

Before my time as I was only 11 when he took office. However his legacy will be a great one, he seemed to be a decent, honorable, truly compassionate individual. As stated above, a complete opposite to the schmuck who is taking office January 20th.

I saw him in person once, he took a river boat up the Mississippi river, and stopped at our little town to offer a speech at the spur of the moment. My mother took me by herself, as my dad was a conservative racist and didn't like him, and she wasn't. Memories like that make me wonder why she married him.

RIP.

A genuinely humble person and real outsider who wanted to change how DC worked, but was unfortunate enough to be handed a crap sandwich that would be unfixable in four years by anyone.

I can't even imagine how much better things would be today if he'd won a second term and Reagan had retired to his faux ranch.

I was attending tech school in Atlanta when Jimmy was the governor of GA. He was well liked and respected then. He had the bad luck of the lazy oil industry getting themselves totally beholden to middle eastern supplies vulnerable to the insane political whims of that misbegotten land. And once again, our military readiness was low due to shutting down things after the mistake of Viet Nam, and the attempt to rescue the hostages failed. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

RIP.
