I point at the GOP for engineering and pushing the bill through committee...you can't blame the dems for that.

they had to vote for it. Democrats had to vote for it

Do you not understand this?

If by "troll" you mean someone who thinks the GOP is lousy party for pushing this bill through, then I'm afraid you are mistaken.

How did they push anything through? Most Democrats voted for it. Nothing was pushed, it was welcomed with open arms by almost everyone in the House.

Are you really this thick? If you're representative of the typical liberal mind, no wonder Democrats can't win an election.

it's ridiculous that they won't even ackowledge their own party's participation in the passage of this bill.

We can all agree that it's lousy legislation, so why can't you all place blame across party lines givent hat the majority of Democratic representatives voted for it as well? Are you wearing blinders?

It amazes me that you can't see the difference between party responsibility here. Let me spell it out for you:

Executive Branch: President (Republican) signed the bill. The buck stops here (or, it could have)
House: (republican majority, which implies control of the committees, the chairman and sub-charman of each committee is a member of the majority party, the committees engineer and allow bills to be brought to the floor)
Senate: (republican majority)

Do you really believe that the democrats are equally to blame here?

The buck could have stopped much sooner if the Democrats didn't vote for this as well. Yes, everyone is equally to blame for this. It should never have been passed, by either Democrats or Republicans.

I notice that you place NO blame, none whatsoever, on the majority of Democrats who also voted for this bill.

The Republican Party can be blamed for a lot of partisan issues, but this isn't one of them.

Both parties share the blame here. Perhaps not equally, but the Dem's are not admitting to ANY responsibility here... not even one ounce! that's just ignorance and cowardice.

Anyone else get this feeling that we are going to have a draft after the election?

My fun little conspiracy theory: :D

- Get the Islamic extremists all riled up, and looking for nukes
- Use the reserve forces only, but save the bulk of the military for something else
- Let North Korea develop weapons. Possibility of terrorists getting weapons keeps Americans good and scared.
- Make it legal to declare martial law. Good thing the military is still fairly strong.
- 2006 Elections. Vote correctly or the terrorists will kill you.
- Rumors of terrorists acquiring nukes
- 2008 Elections. Have military ready for martial law in case of rioting because of evidence of power grab, or because of blatant power grab.
- Or have the military ready for when Emperor Palpatine takes power to preserve the safety of the Republic, and starts a full-out ground war in Iran and/or North Korea.

Quite improbable. I hope.

Congratulations fitzov, you've made my sig.

You'll notice that none of the usual liberals are in this thread defending you. Normally a thread like this would be jam packed with people bashing the president, but nobody wants to stand next to you and the stink you're giving off. Now that's a testament to your stupidity, when P&N won't back up one of the liberal brothers.
