Present State of X58 Motherboards

Almost a year ago to the day.......Anandtech put out the following article:-

clearly from reading that article......the X58 motherboard on the market at that time, had some glaring problems which most likely could be categorized as ill-prepared.

A year on, I am interested to know Anandech's or forum goer's opinions of the improvement in that area concerning specifically the X58 motherboards.............and also whether the X58 motherboards suffer from a similar socket problem as outlined in this article:-

The Foxconn socket problem is a P55 issue not an X58 one. And even then its only an issue for extreme overclocking & over volting.

At this point there are a plethora of great X58 boards available. A year is an eternity in the tech market.
