Present for wife.

I was thinking a new truck. What are those GMC midsize 4 door things called?
Her truck is just out of warranty and my guess is we'll have the standard just after the warranty huge bill soon.

So you'd rather have the brand new car huge bill instead? 😕

Great present. I'm sure YOU will get a lot of use out of it.

hehe, i'd do the same thing.
I'm not allowed to drive her truck because I'm a hog.
She has a 4-door s-10 now.
We've always kept one (if not two) new vehicles in the driveway and now they're getting aged. My car is a 99 and her truck is a 2002 (I think).
All I know is that it just ran out of warranty and that's as good a reason as any to get her a new one.

that too puzzles me

😕

Not that I agree with the logic, but I think you're talking about a Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon. I hear the I-5 is okay, but I'd rather have the torquey ass V6 in the S10/Sonoma's. However gas prices disagree with that 😉

I wouldn't get one of the new small pickups, they seem more wussy than the S10/Sonoma. Frankly I wouldn't get a pickup in general.

Buy the truck for her. You should of bought the extended warranty. I thought about it for my gf but her parents finally spent the money and bought her an suv. The one she had was really unsafe and I have affliation with Ford so it wouldn't have been a bad price tag. But gf is different than wife even though we are getting married later on down the road. BUY IT.

Get her this: http://www.internationaldelivers.com/assets/severe/CXT-2.gif

"Born out of a 20-ton hauler and other International ® severe service trucks used by the construction, government and waste industries, the International CXT is built on the same platform as dump trucks and snowplows. As a result, it is a vehicle unrivaled in capability, size and appearance. It hauls three times the payload of consumer pick-up trucks, is all-wheel drive, uses air brakes for unmatched stopping ability and offers towing, dumping and tilt bed capability. Additionally, it features a spacious interior with crew cab design that seats six and can be customized to meet owners? specific needs ? from paint color to air seats to flat screen TVs."

She's about 8k to the good on her truck. We always trade well and pay quickly so we don't get eaten alive. She's at 3.9% on this loan, otherwise we'd have paid it off long ago.
With employee pricing, trade (or sell outright), her payment will likely go down.
We have no problem keeping at least one car payment all the time, it's a tax advantage among other things.
I feel much better having the wife and my kids in a large, brand new, reliable vehicle than anything less.

Donate the money you would spend on the truck to those who need it instead of getting something you don't need.
That's a really good idea.
Maybe I can get those folks who need it to swing by and earn it like I did.
Or better yet, I can spend it on an American product built by Americans working for American-owned companies so that it'll create excellent paying jobs so that their children won't have to bust their asses only to live in squaler while George's buddies post record profits.
