Try asking her what she wants instead of buying her toys for you.

Oh, and if you're going to stick to that scheme, at least buy an English textbook or two, and a keyboard with a functional Shift button.

Bad advice...if you do it once, she'll expect it. Save yourself the trouble and be a man....

You want to know what to get your GF so you are asking on a tech board full of computer geek virgins?

Jewelry is the answer.

An Ipod would be a good gift if it was WITH Jewelry.

yeah... i think that a nice piece of jewelry would be better than an ipod... does SHE like you giving her techy gifts? Or do you just *think* she likes you giving her techy gifts?

We love jewelry.

Exactly what I was thinking but doesn't have to be from tiffany's. Something that she can wear daily like a pair of daimond earrings or a new watch or bracelet from any decent jewelery store will probably get you more points than an ipod.

Surprise her with tickets to a football game.... you'll want the tickets to help you recover from when you walk in on her with another man

www.tiffanys.com

Yes it's overpriced, but girls LOVE to see that stupid box....

PS... if you don't want to go tiffany's... check out bluenile.com
they have some really nice pieces that look almost exactly like tiffanys. :)

Forget tiffanys, go with Cartier.

You said that you're already getting her speakers, right? Don't go for speakers and an ipod. Speakers are cool as a side gift because thats like a practical gift.

Gifts to girlfriends are differnet that gifts that we as men like to get. We want sh!t to play with. Gifts to a girlfriend should have meaning in some way. Or you must put meaning into the gift. Speakers do show that you know she likes music (which I'm assuming because of the joint speakers/ipod thinking). If she doesn't like music, then you're way off base! :)

The only way an Ipod would go well with the speakers is if you were to preload it with a bunch of songs and custom playlists that have signifigance. For instance, some would be music that you know she likes, but you can't stand (and she knows that too). That's one playlist. Then there's the 'you guys' music that has special meaning to the two of you. And the third could just be other crap. Maybe she likes excerise music or party music or maybe its just stuff you think she should listen to. Whatever, thats not the point. The point is is that if you get something like an Ipod, you have to make it mean more than just a portable music player.

Thats a lot of work, tho. Jewlery (not necessarily rings, bro) innatly have meaning to women, when recieved as gifts from the boyfriends. Find something that you think she would wear, but something different than what she normally wears. Tell her you thought she'd look great in it and that you knew she had nothing like it.

Thats how you work the gift angle to girlfriends. (The delievery of the gift is a whole other area that you must work out-but is equally as important, if you are trying to make an impression). (actually, that is an important part. All of this post is assuming that you really want to do something cool. that you're not just looking for an easy out, cuz if thats the case then just get the most expensive thing you can afford at tiffanys and be done with it).

Unless she is really into music, the jewelery is much better. Not only will she love it, but she will also be wearing something from you, which is important if you're not there with her.

And I don't think clothes are a good gift unless it's something really special, because she probably has so many clothes that she might wear what you get her like once a month anyway.

Ya, he might be on to something. You could probably get a pair of Logitech Quickcam 4000's for under $80 now. Women also seem to like Nintendogs for the DS. You could easily get all that for under $250. Good luck man. Whatever you get I'm sure she'll like it.

chicks dig jewlery, as well as the ipod. Spend $200 on the Nano, and then get her some nice diamond stud earings for $50?
