Prescription sunglasses question

Is it possible to get prescription sunglasses with a silvered surface? I want to get some oversized aviator glasses like the funeral guitar player in Old School wore, but with a prescription. Can silvered glasses also be polarized?

Yes, you can get a polarized glass, polycarbonate or plastic single vision lenses with a silver or chrome layer on the front of the lens. But beware that my experience in seeing the quality of these silver coatings are not all that great. Make sure that when you buy the coating that your eyecare professional has a good warranty on them for a possible redo in the future.

I got mine mirrored from Pearle Vision, had them about 3 years now and they still look good, I probably baby thme a bit since they were about $350. The only problem with mirroring, is that any little smudge on the surface is easy to notice against the mirroring. Been real happy with them tho.

I"m not sure if they can add it to glasses you already have, I had it done when I ordered my glasses. You could ask them I guess. I don't see how it'd be any different.
