I would like to put together a table/listing of Precott CPU temps for comparison. It's a given that these chips run alot hotter than the Northwoods but trying to find info on the "Norm" is hard to do. I think it would help alot of us Prescott users to see where we stand with our operating temps.

If everyone will post their info, I will make a table listing the responces in an easy to compare format. Please use SpeedFan or .Motherboard Monitor5 to find your temps. All responses will be greatly appreciated.

Please submit the following info:

CPU type - Prescott ONLY
CPU Rated speed
Current FSB setting
Type heatsink used
Board brand, model and chipset:
Bios Version:

Room temperature in degrees C ((farenheight - 32) / 1.8)
CPU Idle temp. in degrees C
CPU Gaming or Benchmarking temp. in degrees C
System temp. at Idle in degrees C
System temp Gaming or Benchmarking in degrees C

Your Idle temps are high for a Northwood but then you are overclocking the punk out of it. From what I've found out so far, 40-42C is the norm for a Prescott. 55-60C seems to be the high end under load. This is only from talking to a limited number of Prescott users. That is why I'd like to put together a list and calculate the averages.

Do remember to note your motherboard in the comments - no two motherboards report the same temperatures; they are only comparable relative to the same motherboard.

There was an article posted recently on the striking difference reported between Asus and Abit boards, with Abit posting temps about 10-15C higher on average (at least, in the BIOS).
