Prescott ready motherboards?

Hey all

Anyone know what current board will be be able to take the Socket 478 based P4 Prescott chips when they come out?
(I know there might only be 2 of them)

I understand they will need some sort of different socket power setup.
Is this correct, if so which of the recent P4 boards have it?

I believe the ASUS P4P800/Deluxe and the Gigabyte 8KNXP have the necassary new power setups.
ASUS Website P4P800 page "-New power design supports IntelR next generation Prescott CPU!! "
Gigabyte Power setup said to be Prescot ready in the FiringSquad.com Review.
Can anyone confirm this to be certain?

Thanks

>> AFAIK, all 875/865 boards will run Prescott

I remember somebody from Intel saying that any 875/865 board will accept a Prescott "as long as it meets Intel power guidelines" or something to that effect. Since Prescotts are .09 micron chips they will require lower voltage than the Northwoods. A motherboard will only support Prescotts if it provides enough current at lower voltages. I wouldn't assume a motherboard supports Prescotts unless it says so because there is a lot of variation in allowable voltage ranges and current levels among the motherboards. Eventually the Prescotts will consume more power than the Northwoods. A motherboard will have to provide both lower voltages and higher currents to run the later Prescotts.
