Cmon ppl....We all know that is horseshit...Intel has stated Tejas will be out in 2005and will be on a .065 process and will debut around 4.5ghz or so.....Prescott is very shortlived, and for good reasons as they truly need to get a handle on the power leakage which is leading to this tremendous heat....
I personally think we need to develop multiple core chips and more dual and four way mainboards for desktop users as a way to cut this down.....If we had decent boards designed for this with software optimization and hardware optimization it could be great with the technology currently....
Give me dual 3.0ghz p4c's with quad channel DDR memory and implemented more like apple where they get good scalability out of multiple cpu setups and this would be a lot of power that could be power now and cooled now sufficiently....
I know ppl will say get a dual Xeon...NO I want to see dual processor setups mor mainstream in the PC market. Then I want to see chipsets, hardware, and software designed to allow us to use these 2 3.0ghz chips as near as 6ghz as possible.....Why is this so difficult???
