1/15 and 1/16 only CompUSA will have the Presario sr1610nx Minitower FREE after rebate with a 12 month AOL sign-up or for $125 after MIRs without the AOL. edit: Thay are also listing the sr1710nx as $124.99 AR here.

333129 1/15-1/16 price is $409.99 less $35 instant savings less $50 mfr MIR less $200 CompUSA MIR = $124.99. Take an additional $125 off instantly if you sign up for 12 months AOL at time of purchase.

    AMD Sempron 3200 1.8GHz
    DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo
    256MB DDR SDRAM
    80GB drive

LOL, you shall be waiting for nothing then, unless you live in BFE. There is a rather large FW thread about PMing and return/rebuying, and already most places are supposedly sold out. good luck tho.

I hate to threadcrap, but I think this is the deal that has been talked about most of the week on SD and FW. This means that pretty much all of these computers have been bought already, with the intent to do a return and rebuy this Sunday.

Also, the $200 rebate is also good on the 1710
Which has a 3400+, 100GB SATA drive, and has an Asus MB witha PCI Express slot. I think the 1610 has a MSI MB.

I think if anyone can find either of these systems, they should buy them and do a return and rebuy (assuming CompUSA allows this).

Allisolm, you always post good deals, keep it up :)
Edit: Looks like they list stock (on their website) at lots of stores for the 1710. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the store wouldn't sell you one today. They either are being bought up by the employees or they are keeping them to use as substitutes for the 1610 on Sunday, since most stores are out. Note the $200 rebate lists both SKU's (1610 and 1710 model).
Check out the thread at FW if you want to look at PDF's of the $200 and $50 MIR.

Right you are. They are sold out, and it isn't even the 15th.
Oh well, if it sounds too good to be true....

They could always have stock that isn't being put out until the 15th or elect to offer same price subs. I never count a deal as dead decause someone else says the store is sold out before the sale even starts. I've gotten too many deals to work AFTER that pronouncement to start taking it for the gospel truth at any time.

do you have a link or part # for the asus board?
aside from that, I'm actually think I'm partial to the 3200+ because it has double the cache of the sempron64 3400+ (128k vs. 256k) since the only difference between the sempron64 and the athlon64 is the cache, and the sempron64 is supposedly very over-clockable I'd say the 3200+ may be a better choice.
btw, the MSI board has an available PCIe slot too.
also, is the 100gb drive actually SATA? or are they just saying there is SATA avalible on the board like the 3200+ (i got the 3200+ last time, and it has SATA ports, but an IDE HD.)

the motherboard is basically an msi rs482m2-il.

    http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=RS482M4-ILD&class=mb

they used the original rs480m2-il for a while on earlier models.

smoe people have said if you order the bios and swap the chips out (from MSI) you would get a fully unlocked motherboard.

i know the compaq gaming machines has msi neo2 plat boards with a special compaq bios. you could just get an msi flashed bios chip and it became a normal msi board again.

well for about $200 after IR and MIRs you get case/psu, dvd/cdrw, a stick of 256mb pc3200, a Sempron 3200+/3400+ s939 chip w/ hsf( its fairly quiet as well), 80(pata)/100gb(sata), 56k modem, card reader, firewire, usb2.0, pci-e slot, 2 open pci slots, ati video(usually 64mb pulls from system ram..add more ram as 256mb is woefully inadequate), 1 yr warranty and WinXPHome sp2 build one from new parts for same price ..;) 1st trouble you'll encounter is you can't get the s939 Sempron yet...for the price I've already stashed one 1610nx...I'd previously picked up a 1611nx-b for $476 with tax back in Dec 2k6 for my sis and bro inlaw ...it performs very nicely :D

Several stores are showing inventory here in Dallas. It will be worth a trip down at 10 am, just to find out if they do have them.

seeing as how i haven't mailed in the UPC code yet for the previous 1610nx sale, i'm gonna see if i can get a return/rebuy on it done. i did cut the upc out of the box, then saw the threads start up about this weekend's sale.
