Prepping for SP3 for XP Professional

Morning All,

I typically do not have a problem in preparing my own personal computers for major updates, but this is the wife's computer and I wonder how much effort I need to put into this. Currently, it is running XP Professional (32-but) on a 12-month old custom built PC with SP2 and all critical updates that are current.

Is there anything I should be very concerned to throwing caution to the wind and backing up only the data files (pictures, music, Office documents)?

Also look at the end of this page for the list of SP3 enhancements, to make sure that there is a real functional benefit to apply it to your specific computer and the way it is used.
