Preparing Network Connections - FOREVER!!!

Ok, just moved and changed my network config. Anyway, I have my xp box hooked up a couple of nics, and want to config my 2kAdvServer box to work using xp box as a router. Sadly, I can't get past windows startup with advserver. It's been more than 15 minutes and it's still "preparing network connections". I tried doing safe mode and it goes through, but it just stalls when I try to modify network settings. I've tried this with ethernet cord in/out, it doesn't matter.

Is there a simple solution for this?

Ahh... well it seems like it eventually worked. Only took 45 minutes to prepare network connections and a brisk 15 minutes to load personal settings. gotta dig these old p3 500's....
