In Taiwan, I can buy prepaid phone cards at any 7Eleven (there are thousands of them) to recharge a cell phone SIM that I bought years ago. I keep the same cell number every time I'm there, and it's relatively inexpensive for my usage.
I assume there's something similar in Japan. I'll only need about 30 minutes or so as an emergency contact number and for calling hotels and such during my one week stay.
Are there convenient places (in Tokyo) where one might purchase such a thing? I don't speak Japanese, so a brand name might also be helpful so I can tell someone what I want.
