I'll wait few months on this console. If Nintendo's even close to meeting their forecasted unit supply, there could potentially be a good deal on these 2-3 months after Christmas.

For people that say there will be no shortage....if there won't be one, howcome all of the preorders are selling out in like 15 minutes? Don't stores take preorders on their expected stock?

nintendo said 2 million at launch, thats about 4 times more then 360 had at launch if iirc. nintendo also said 7-9 million units by the end of the year, by comparison, the 360 just hit 6 million units not to long ago. As long as nintendo delivers as promised there will be no shortages.

It might sell out on launch day if Nintendo sticks with only 1 million units in North America, but there will be plenty by Christmas. According to UBS Nintendo is well ahead of schedule on production, so they should be able to meet demand pretty quickly.

Wow, that was quick.

Ah well, if I can't find one on retail around xmas, I'll pick up one after the new year. I think I'm gonna have to pass on PS3 for, well, indefinately. Sony is going to have to redeem themselves before I'll even consider a PS3. Heck, it took me like 5 years to get a PS2, I bought it like the year before the 360 came out.

Someone on Amazon posted that they called Walmart:

just called customer service and this is what they said. They are expecting to have unlimited quantites available online on November 15th. This is what he said to me, so it sounds pretty positive. Here is the number, 1-800-966-6546. Call them and see if they say the same thing to you.

I did call and got the same response. Maybe little Timmy will get one for Christmas after all :)

I'll buy one sometime when I get around to it, probably after the new year. I'd rather wait to make sure they work as advertised.

Nintendo is pretty true to it's word. They're not in the business of trying to outdo other people- they have their own style and I can't imagine it not working other than advertised.
