You do realize that I asked you to qualify what you meant by "bad." Running a high strung turbocharged engine without a knock sensor / corresponding stuff on 87? That's bad. Running your Civic on leaded race fuel? That's bad too. One will cause catastrophic engine failure. The other is irrelevant because we're not talking about leaded fuel. 😉Well it's not like you have a lot of time out there in the field.
Premature catalyst failure is one cause.
You do realize what octane means right and that if you aren't burning the complete fuel deposit that that is bad mojo.
OP has 87, 89, and 93 available. Acura says:
Nothing about higher octane causing damage.Octane - RL, TL, TSX V-6, ZDX, MDX, RDX
Using gasoline with an octane lower than 91 octane may cause damage to the engine. Please consult the owner's manual for details.
If you find something showing engine damage from running 91/93 on a car designed for 87, I'd like to see it as well.
