CNET was doing some insanely basic review of how to edit films or whatever, and I noticed their preview windows was smooth as silk.

While mine is all choppy and, frankly crap. I don't understand why. Vegas 7 is the definition of smooth previewing your film, but I've been struggling trying to get Premiere to work. As an avid Vegas user of over 6+ years, I find it hard to pull away from that software but I need to have more features at my disposal. As far as I can tell, premiere delivers on its features and editing options... but its almost impossible for me to work with a video running at 1fps.
Any ideas? New software? Faulty CD(s)? Anyone else experience this issue?
Specs: 4200X2, 2GB ram, 7800GTX...300GB HDD...
