Ok so I'm not supposed to remove the Cruzer until it's stopped. At school, I can't access the Safely Remove Hardware window because I'm a student and I might inappropriately use the computer:|. Is there a way around this? I can get to command prompt.

If I did remove the Cruzer without stopping it, what's the worse that could happen?

No problem at all as long as the LED is not flashing. Show it in - it goes "dong ding." Pull it out and it goes "ding dong."

If you notice, the errors that pop up in 2k when you hot-unplug a usb device without stopping it are gone in xp, it doesn't affect anything if the device is not in use and was just an annoyance to most people. You're fine if it's not being used, people do it all the time.

If you pull it and it was writing data, it is possible to corrupt the filesystem. I have done it a few times on my cruzer by accident.
