She's got 72 hours to kill thanks to the mean-spirited, petty impositions of the anti-choice crowd. Why not use it?

About a decade ago someone did one of these for a bunny rabbit he said he caught in his yard. He wanted 50K or something, else he said he would kill and eat the rabbit. Ended up short, but still made like $30K from the idiots on the Internet. Paid a guy 30K to eat a rabbit.

Hopefully this one gets investigated and leads to charges against whoever made this. It's pretty sick no matter how I look at it.

IANAL, but maybe fraudulent solicitation.

..what if she donates all the money to PP?

As others have suggested: this is just fraud, or some college research project, and there ends up being real money. I'm curious that, in these situations, can donating the money mitigate the legal consequences? I assume not, as money is still leaving another's hands as a result of fraudulent claims...

Not enough money to spare and the ramifications of donating are dubious beyond saving the life, but I'd adopt the child if they'd let me. No, the potential million-dollar trust fund is not my incentive. I'd do it without that so that the unwanted child may live. Something tells me that they don't want single guys that aren't Bruce Wayne millionaires raising kids.

I'll let her live with the mental and moral ramifications, because all this happened because of her choices, so trying to transfer responsibility to right-wingers and pro-lifers is pretty disgusting.

Honestly I think up to a certain point, it's a woman's right, but what about the father? It takes two to tango, and shouldn't a man have some say if his sperm is involved? Also, what about abortion to a certain time of pregnancy? When does life truly begin?

I'm an agnostic, but there is something absolutely sick and twisted about this woman and people who think that the ability to create life is some sort of joke or something to be toyed with. There's a real lack of personal responsibility of people these days, especially when they can just have it all "instantaneously" fixed by a quick operation. What does that say about our respect for children and each other? Use a goddamn condom or birth control. I understand that people are tired of religious zealots and right-wingers who may or may not be trying to force people to believe or respect their god or beliefs, but honestly, why should I respect someone dumb enough to make the pregnancy mistake in the first place and not be willing to take on the responsibilities of their actions?

The irony here is that her stunt says a lot less about the pro-life side of the debate than it does about her as a person.

Although being anonymous, there is no way to verify anything she says about herself or that she follows through with her plans for the money. I can't see why anyone would give her anything but what the hell, if people want to give her money, more power to her.

I find it interesting she feels so strongly about "restrictive" abortion laws. I wonder if she would fight against the far more restrictive gun laws given that gun ownership is a constitutionally protected right? I am guessing not.

Any particular reason why she should? Feeling strongly about one subject doesn't mean that you have to feel strongly about all subjects.

I'm thinking that this isnt a situation that you need worry too much about being put on the spot for. :awe:

Fraud? Why fraud? It's performance art. People can give money, or not. I applaud the effort, and look forward to(hopefully) the results. Whatever the outcome, it's sure to be interesting.

So who wants to place bets that this story is a complete hoax? The news doesn't exactly fact check these things. Especially the Daily Mail. It's just too perfect a scandal to possible be true. I'd give it a week tops before Snopes or Cracked exposes it as fake.
"I'm going to have an abortion anyway.
...I wonder if I can milk the Internet for some money in the process."

Exactly...besides it gets pretty boring for women to always have to wait in those lines that extend around the block every time they go in for their monthly abortions.

The new "Minute Clinics" in Target and CVS are supposed to provide service "in about an hour", but sometimes it can take two or three. Victims of their own popularity, I guess.

If real, I like it. If the Pro-life crowd is so concerned about the "life of the child," they should ensure it is well taken care of after it is born. $1 million should help.
