Nope, it is not guaranteed, high stress levels can cause a girl to miss her period. Working out a lot, changes in her BC, changes in her diet, etc.

Wait around 2 more weeks and test again.

Not always. Stress and other factors like drastic weight loss can affect periods.

My wife missed a period ... then had one, then missed one again, and the first time seemed due to stress ... and the second was pregnancy. We're expecting on the 29th.

Good luck. Hope you get the results you wanted.

And as a note those home pregnancy test are pretty accurate sometime like 97% some crazy high number I cant quite remember right now. If you wanna be sure goto the doctor and get a blood draw to test.

Otherwise just try again.

EDIT: But I was just looking some things up, and as an idea the urine home test has a threshold detection level that is about 20% better than the blood test used in most hospitals and clinics, but like mosh said it's been 12 days and you negative on one, just wait a couple days test again if it's negative then well start trying again

yep, it can happen.

also, if she's working out hard it can cause her to miss periods.

if she is 12 days late and the pregnancy test showed she wasn't pregnant she probably isn't.
try another test to be sure.

so how about make a dr.'s appt or try another test? sometimes what you think are "symptoms" are not.

good luck. you're hoping she is pregnant?

Maybe just consider another home pregnancy test.

Found what I was looking for.

From UpToDate(an online data base for Drs and health care workers):

"First Response Early Result" was found to be the most sensitive HPT, with an analytical sensitivity of less than 6.3 mIU/ml. This product should detect more than 95 percent of pregnancies on the first day of a missed period. The same manufacturer, Scantibodies Laboratories Inc, also makes "Answer" and "Answer Quick & Simple" kits that are similar in design to "First Response Early Result" and therefore may have similar sensitivities.
The second most sensitive HPT was "Clearblue Easy Earliest Results," having an analytical sensitivity of 25 mIU/ml [14]. This product should detect 80 percent of pregnancies on the first day of a missed period. "Clear Plan Easy" is a similar product made by the same manufacturer.

yes, we did make a doctors appt, last week for just a check, we had the doctor check after 2-5 days after her missed pregnancy, the test showed negative, but she has the back pain, the stomach pain, frequent bathroom visits.

The tests were negative for that too. But the doctor did give her medication if the periods come back.

When you say the test came out negative, what does that mean? She's pregnant or not?
My gf will be late with her period sometimes, and i think it was even a week overdue. But if the tets says she's not pregnant, I wouldn't be worried. After 23 years, I still don't understand women's bodies.

The test showed one line, which means she is not pregnant.

Then just let it be. You're fine and you're not having a baby. Im no expert on menstration, but I think there are many different factors which can delay a "cycle"....

I can't believe I just said that
