Preferred output res of DVD player for HD display

Just got an Epson 8700ub 1080p projector, also a Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Integrated Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player, but I shipped the Panasonic back to Amazon yesterday (no subtitle button on remote, a show stopper). So, until I order a Blu-ray player, my old Momitsu V880 is all I have. It's OK that I don't have a BD player for a while, I only have one BD title, hundreds of DVDs to upconvert to the Epson (beautiful display). The Momitsu is an upscaling DVD player, supports a number of output resolutions including 720p, 1080i, 480p, 480i, some others, I think. I'm using component outputs to the projector, because the cable's already in place (it's a PITA to run another cable, and this is temporary anyway). My old Sanyo PLV-Z2 PJ was 720p, so that's the res the Momitsu's set at now. Have to believe that's not appropriate for the Epson. What output resolution should I set my Momitsu at to supply to the 1080p native Epson? The Epson will process the signal sent to it to provide 1080p, I believe, but there has to be an optimal signal to provide the projector with from the DVD player.

Not really. Either the projector upscales or the DVD player does it. Honestly you should not notice a difference.
