I just got my burner back from an RMA, and I was wondering what brand everyone likes to use to burn. I have been using Imation?s, they seem to be okay, but I am wondering if there is anything cheaper.

Of course, I consulted this post, thanks to allisolm , but out of this week?s deals, which would you guys buy? I have a Lite-on 40x, but I will be overclocking it in the future, so the cds should be able to be written at 48x.

I heard the FUJI's are good, but they are rated for 24x.... can they be burned at 40x without problems?

Thanks

The Fuji's should be able to be burned at 40x... to be honest, since I've gotten my Lite on 40x, I haven't had a problem burning any CD's at 40x.. even these cheapo "eProformance" CD's I got for about $17 (Canadian) for a 50 pack spindle..
I've also got some memorex CD's.. they work pretty well too. Looking around the CDfreaks forums, it seems like the Kodak gold&silver ones are really reliable.. but I don't know if that's important to you or not because they run about a dollar a disc.. at least, here in Ontario

I have found the guys over at CDR Info (click on the Forum button at the top) to be pretty helpful with these types of questions. Interestingly, some burners clearly do not like certain brands (even good ones). I think the Verbatim DataLife Plus are great and my Yamaha burns them at 44X without a problem, but YMMV.

Kodak's are the best, but I basically use any brand that comes around, and my plextor 40a burns them fine.

I've heard the Kodak Gold CDs are no longer made. Those were some gems.
