Say what you will, but the part is in a shambles with no solid direction and fringe groups who cannot arrive to a consensus on anything but obstructionism. Their only useful tool is abrasiveness with those who disagree. Whether it's coming from the pundits or the candidates, it is their only tactic. It may attract their devout followers but it drives away the general public.

This combined with more minorities and millennials entering the voting booths and the already narrow margins of victory in key states such as Ohio and Florida which yield a combined worth of 47 electoral votes are going to make it difficult for any G.O.P candidate to win a general election.

I figure that it will take about 10 years for them to shake this reputation.

Feel free to bookmark this post :)

Prediction: Democrats, no matter how much of a majority they have in congress and no matter whether or not they control the White House, will continue to spend every last ounce of energy talking about Republicans. They're such whiny motherfucking pieces of shit that they'd rather talk shit 24/7 about Trump, Boehner, Fox News, and Jeb Bush than say anything positive about what they have to offer, because they have nothing and the best they can say about themselves is that they're not Republicans.

Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Already.

The problem with the Repubs is they need to be inclusive of the very folks they fear and detest. And a core group of them needlessly fear and detest these folks because they were/are being sold a well built well financed package of shit propaganda that is designed to instill unreasonable levels of fear and hatred. And this indoctrinating process is deployed to insure that the few who control the party will remain in power ad infinitum.

It's no different than what any third world banana republic dictatorship does, or for that matter what Kim Jong-Un's apparatchicks do for their own survival.

In summary, a few very rich guys that own the party have managed to manipulate (or lost control of?) the party into an organization where a minority of hard core ultra right wing zealots consisting of supremacists, religious fundamentalist whack-jobs and totally indoctrinated simpletons have somehow taken the party hostage, and the majority, consisting of those well meaning reasonable hostages feel they have to appear in unity with those nutjobs because they are loyal, but unwilling to risk having that wound-tight core group turn on them and be blacklisted as not being "real" conservatives.

This is my honest outside-looking-in view that I believe many loyal and conscientious conservatives cannot or refuse to see from the inside looking out.

You make this so fucking easy...

Ummmm.... I'm pretty sure the exact same thing could be said about the Republicans regarding Democrats. Kind of like what DrDoug posted. For someone who claims to be neither you sure seem to lean a fuckload to one side.

You have to give the Democrats credit - if you can't win, change the electorate to one you can win by controlling education and changing the racial makeup through immigration policy. It's working marvelously for them, and I suspect that when Republicans completely fail as a party, they will be replaced with a party more specifically in line with Hispanic culture while like most other Western nations, right wing ideas will be increasingly legally curbed.

Yes.

With comedians, racists, bigots, young Earth creationists and failed CEOs you can't win. Correct.

As crazy at the Right sounds, they do represent a significant number of Americans.

Their big hurdle; what they want goes against the foundations of this country and the law. So, it does not matter how great their leadership is, they will fail in making this country into the vision they want.

The proof is also in the pudding; trickle down is bullshit, ACA is beneficial to Americans, corporations have become downright abusive to the government and the people, a woman has every right to decide what she wants with her body, racism exists, rape exists, invasions don't work, greed is not good, the market rarely corrects itself, self regulation doesn't always work (in some industries it works just dandy, in others it's asking for trouble), same sex marriage aren't a threat to anyone and so on.

The Right's main problem is that it has been wrong, MANY times. It uses fear and lies to serve its own purpose. And frankly, the Right isn't Right. It's just a bunch of anti government pro corporate goons that want power for themselves and close off any options for a real democracy.

Eventually they will go away, since the demographics of this country have changed and will continue to change. Plus, we are really getting tired of their lies and manipulation. In the immediate future, I see them being flat out ignored.

Maybe, problem is dems have to have someone to run. The next gen leadership has not broken out yet.

I'm not convinced Hillary is electable. Biden is old and a perennial loser, and Bernie? Yeah, dont think so.

Dems need to get through 2016 first

Prediction: the divide in the country will continue to widen, regardless of which party lands the election there will continue to be massive amounts of bickering and limited progress, and even if anything does occur it will be considered by many as a failing given that there was no attempt to bring the two groups together to pass whatever is put through.

The dems are in a good spot now with the downturn in the economy, preaching free stuff, cost controls, and government mandated jobs and forced higher wages to a nation that wants more of all of the above given their limited earning potential in the current climate.

It will be interesting to see if people will continue to be ok with higher taxes and fees in return for an expansion of mediocre government services...I am guessing they will.

Wow.

The amount of projection it takes to not only write that, but believe it, is amazing.

You guys don't get it. And I didn't get it either till the 2008 financial crisis which made me move to Singapore for work.

The GOP could have guaranteed itself a stranglehold on government if it thought like Singaporeans.

What do they do different? They take a look at the demographics of the country and set a quota for every building, every neighborhood so it perfectly reflects the demographics of the country.. for example 75% are set for the people of Chinese Origin, 10% for Malaysians, 10% for Indians and 5% for Foreign workers like Philippines and Europeans.

What does this do? It promotes racial harmony and talk instead of white flight and demonizing people. Viewpoints are understood and respected and conservative/ capitalistic ideologies embraced.

Despite that the government regularly adjusts policies to actively regulate "the supply and prices of healthcare services in the country" in an attempt to keep costs in check.

And because of this a conservative party has won every election from 1965.

It seems the Democrats are the only ones trying to do this but meeting resistance at every step.

I predict a thorough beating next Presidential cycle, loss of Senate seats and maybe some House seats too. That will cause 2 years of reflection then they'll learn to corral the religious and tea party conservatives better since both those groups have nowhere else to go at that point they'll be ready to bargain with again.
I also predict the Democrats will squander the influence and not get much done because the Democratic Party is more like a mob of people that have similar goals but not the same goals.

I don't think the Dems will squander it but constitutional amendments are hard to procure and we desperately need to remove the "money in politics" which best represents itself in the people who rebelled against Boehner. They don't care about politics, they don't care about the country, they only care about who is paying for their re-election campaign.

This was best shown by the GOP's membership who refused to fund an aid bill for Hurricane Sandy.

What do repubs have to offer? Go ahead and lay it out for us because obviously we missed it. To make things easier go ahead and lay out the actual policies the top top primary candidates are running on. After you do that I'll look through the various threads and see if anyone has spoken about those policies.

Still projecting I see.

I can say some unflattering things about the Dems, but as far as being "whiny motherfucking pieces of shit," that's funny in that they can't hold a candle to the party of the christian persecution complex! Not even fucking close. Bernie Sanders alone proves you wrong on your "talking shit" angle too, he's still trying to get everyone to address the numbers behind his views and proposals, you know - those things that no one at the GOP debate brought up, being unable to do anything beyond talk shit about Obama.

I understand you and others chafe at the load of Trump hanging from your collective necks, it definitely doesn't look comfortable or admirable, but venting at your dreaded Dems does jack shit to the people who support and poll for Trump. While it's true Dems probably don't have a problem with this Trump business, it's pretty hilarious you'd get so frothy for Dems expressing the same kind of schadenfreude you do here so often (as per your documented love of tears and other bodily fluids from libs, Dems, etc).

Damn Dems. Making the Pubs not have ideas and opt for reality TV personalities and morons, right?

Slurp it up clown, don't stop on my account.

An easy and very simple task to accomplish: rewind the reel of history back to 2000-2008 and ponder on the causes/effects thereof. ;)

edit - * except double-triple-quadruple down on that and then quintuple-sextuple-septuple down on that.
