So the RNC cancelled the 1st day of convention on the threat of a hurricane hitting Tamps, rightly so.

Question: Will Paul Ryan make any mention of the people in New Orleans just to say we are thinking of you and we will do a better job of Disaster Relief.

It would be a nice touch to at least ackowledge that Romney/Ryan are running for office of all people not just their own.

Let's see.

I guess I don't get it.

Considering its the federal governments job to provide disaster relief, it didn't seem unreasonable to me to show a little concern even if its faked for moderates.

Bet the farm if Isreal were hit by a massive earthquake and lives were threatened it would have gotten a mention.

What a worthless thread. Do any Republicans ever acknowledge people suffering?

Well I stand corrected.
Mitt Romney said:
He began with a joking reference to Hurricane Isaac, which continues to batter New Orleans.

“I appreciate this invitation to join you on dry land this afternoon,” he said to open his speech. The crowd laughed.

Turning serious, Romney expressed support for New Orleans as its residents feel the effects of Hurricane Isaac.

“Our country must do all we can to help them recover,” Romney said.
People suffering is always good for a joke.

will the Dems state anything at their conventions.

People know when things happens and can feel sorry -

Did the OP put up a large banner in NoLA to proclaim his pain for those that are getting washed out.

NoLA knows that they have set themselves up for disaster all the time; they chose that lifestyle knowingly - no one forced them into it.

Only if they are referring to suffering billionaires who have to pay more than a 13% tax rate.

That is the fair share that the Democrats have determined is fair.

The fact that the thieves can not understand the tax laws apparently is another reason for them to rejoice.

Perhaps we should take a look at what segments of society are most likely to donate (and donate more) to charity and to help out those less fortunate. Democrats love to waste time talking about it but only want to put other's people where their mouth is, not their own.

Holy shit, Mitt Romney apparently can't even acknowledge people suffering right in front of his face.

epublican presidential candidate Mitt Romney launched the final leg of his quest for the White House by visiting storm-battered Louisiana on Friday. He drove through a town that was flooded by Hurricane Isaac in part because it's still outside the vast flooding protection system built with federal funds after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.

Romney and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) spent close to an hour meeting with first responders and local officials. Romney shook hands with National Guardsmen outside the U.S. Post Office and talked with a local resident, Jodie Chiarello, 42, who lost her home in Isaac's flooding.

"He just told me to, um, there's assistance out there," Chiarello said of her conversation with Romney. "He said, go home and call 211." That's a public service number offered in many states.

What did the Dems do about the drought - nothing

What could they do with Republicans having filibuster control?

If they could what would you have them do?

What do you think your Republican heroes would do?

You would make a great Republican Politician.

Say a lot but have no substance to back anything up.

Don't present any plan to a problem, just rhetoric against your opposition.

I think you have broken the supid meter. Sending FEMA, National Guard, emergency aid and reasuring the victims desn't require Congressional approval.

You are correct. It just requires a President to be awake at the switch and be willing to respond. Even if a majority of black people are in trouble.

While Republicans are willing to be generous with taxpayers money to force trans-vaginal ultrasounds on women.

Why is New Orleans so special? Shouldn't Romney acknowledge every place that gets hit by a hurricane, tornado, earthquake, wildfire, drought, landslide, mudslide, or other disaster?
