Predefined builds?

Every time I prepare to build a new PC I spend many hours researching the current hardware situation and weighing all the different options against each other, searching different forums etc. etc. And every time I ask myself, wouldn't it be awesome if there was a collection of pc hardware specs already put together by experienced pc builders. That would save a lot of people a lot of time. Is there a website like this anywhere?

Not that I know of. Usually people do what you do, then come here making sure that they didn't do something stupid. This usually leads to 2 or 3 page threads, because it's not like you can just spend 1K or more easy 😀

You might want to check out the following two sites...

Anandtech's own site
http://www.anandtech.com/guides/

HardOCP
http://consumer.hardocp.com/reviews.htm...t=OSxTeXN0ZW0gR3VpZGVzLGhjb25zdW1lcg==

Since I often go a couple of years between builds I know what you mean about spending hours researching. Both of those links generally have sample builds from low to high end builds, with the components already speced out. In fact, I used most of the components listed in the Intel system on the HardOCP page and everything works great.
