Predator x34 - How does it hit 100hz?

I thought that without DP 1.3 this would not be possible at 3440x1440. Are they sacrificing color to get this bandwidth?

It's 3840*2160 that requires DP1.3.

Yeah, they can do 2560x1440 at 144hz with the current displayport on other screens.

Not sure why you have to make the change in the monitor osd to enable 100hz in the x34, maybe the spec is defined in hz at certain resolutions or something.

It is not 2560x1440 it is 3440x1440 though.

3440x1440 is about 4.9 Megapixels
3840x2160 is about 8.3 Megapixels

Plenty of headroom.

3440x1440@100 Hz is actually fewer pixels per second than 2560x1440@144 Hz. It's roughly equivalent to 2560x1440@134 Hz.

Has anyone grabbed this monitor? I may be switching back to green as this is the first monitor to meet the requirements I have been looking for. Will have to see what the next generations bring for each GPU maker first.
