Hi all,

I spotted this ebay auction. Someone has a lightly used "demo" M60 for sale with a 128MB QuadroFx 700.

I'm not connected with the auction and I wouldn't bid on it if I were you (i.e. NO WARRANTY). Just an FYI about what is probably on the way!

Going to cost a fortune new.

So I take it that it will be pretty soon that we will start seeing GeForceFX chips in the Latitude D800/Inspiron 8500 (or their successor) models? That is since this auction mentions the QuadroFX 700. Then again, I checked nVidia's site, and I see no mention of a QuadroFX 700 Go, just a Quadro FX 500 (desktop part) and a Quadro4 700 Go GL (mobile 64 MB part). Something seems fishy here...

Hmm...Dell's offering a 60GB 7200 rpm drive as one of the hard drive options. Sounds like a nice machine. I just wish the Dells were built like the T-Series, sans annoying electrostaticy noise.

Its expensive yo

Yep, it's expensive alright.

About $300-$800 more than an extremely similar D800, but you get 7200rpm HD and 128MB of video ram. Too rich for my blood.

I'm still looking forward to a T40.

It all comes down to how you prioritize game performance, build qaulity, and batter life.

Try configuring one using the educational link -- an obvious mistake, but the site DISCOUNTS the 1.6 over the 1.4, and the 4 yr warranty over the 3 yr -- go figure...
