Was it the creation of the CIA? Was it the creation of social security? Was it the fact that the truth about WWII is obscured? Was it the fact that he did half of it and LBJ did the other half? Was it something else?

We haven't had a non interventionist president since Hoover left the white house. We haven't had a Presidential admin that reduced spending/regs without adding new ones since Harding/Coolidge other than maybe Truman but that was only because FDR did even more damage outside of america than in it (artificially boosted GDP by decreasing GWP). We haven't had a pro-civil liberties president since Grover Cleveland.

FDR wasn't even that smart (he contained no original thought), yet he changed everything.

There is a saying "after FDR, there is no going back" and it's true so that's why I'm asking... What the hell did he do to change everything?

You're not intelligent.

If you want to challenge something put some thought into it instead if rambling.

Reversing anything has consequences because time has past allowing things to happen.
One can not go back in time and start over again with a clean slate

But he did so much and very little of it was reversed. A lot of what he did was actually strengthened.

It wouldn't have been worse if the Axis had taken control of the U.S. govt because there would've been no illusion that we're free. The ideal scenario, however, would've been if the U.S. govt stayed the hell out of the world war. There would've been no cold war, no murder of millions of innocent Europeans by the Soviets, no Berlin wall, no U.S. involvement in the U.N., no Holocaust (because WWII could not have happened had the U.S. govt not involved itself in WWI), no murder of innocent Japanese people, no President FDR, etc., etc.

The Antichrist? That is the most rediculous thing I've ever heard. FDR wasn't the Antichrist, he couldn't have been because we all know Obama is the Antichrist. He may have been the devil however. He lead us into a completely unnecessary war. It was not as though a large number of innocent people were being slaughtered and our turning a blind eye to their suffering would have stained the conscience of a generation or Americans or anything. I'm sure if that were true that Congress would have been ready to declare war the day before yesterday, setting up provocation to force their hand would surely not have been necessary. Besides, if you ask me the Brits were about ready to turn that thing around any day now. Surely the world did not need America to lead the way in the deposing of a tyrant.

And don't even get me started on all the Socialism he started. He conjured up Social Security because he was of the typical Liberal mindset that people are entitled to free money so they don't have to work. That is why the programs are called Entitlements. Take take take. Never any give. You aren't entitled to my money, Liberals. You should go out and earn it. Until the day you keel over, if necessary. Just don't add to my taxes.

The reason why we can't go back on those programs is because once FDR got Americans on the entitlement teat, they would be too dependent to ever give it up. Thankfully however, voters are stupid. There is light at the end of the tunnel. If you call for the destruction of Social Security, the people will call for your head. But if you call it the saving of social security, some might even hail you as a hero while you dismantle parts of the system and divert the money away to far better uses of our money, like say bankrolling the cash strapped lobbyist companies and war contractors.

That's true and that's probably how he got re-elected in '36... the notion of cutting public spending was popular 4 years earlier.

fdr was a disaster for the US. His new deal and increased spending was what really hurt the US and made so many leeches dependent on the government.

Wow just wow!!! It is quite obvious that you have never ever traveled out of the United States!
I have been all over the world and let me tell you........
Every time I return from abroad....I just want to bow down and kiss the ground that I am standing on and thank god for this country!

Are we perfect as a country.....nope not at all.
Are we free?? Compared to what?
I would rather live in our country with your so called "illusion of freedom", rather than in any other countries "illusion of freedom."

Also Anarchist420 consider this.....if you are as sick as you say you are, then you of all people know that there was a time when people with mental issues were put to death.....

Nowhere in the world is free, but where I live should be stateless.

There are times when I'd like to die.
Thanks for the kind reply though:)
