hi, i have some gold coinage, about 5 grand worth.I am looking at investing in some more metals. Should i get more gold? how does silver work? whats it going for? do you just by the stock? What about platinum? are there any platinum coins or perhaps maybe an investment in some platinum jewelry?
 
Why are you investing in precious metals - simply as a profit-making activity, or to protect yourself against possible currency problems?

You can get platinum coins issued by the US Mint. They come in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ounce sizes. They can be bought from the Mint directly or from many coin dealers. If I was going to buy platinum I'd buy it in coin form. Much easier to sell than buying it in jewelry, plus it will be a lot cheaper.
