preactivated vista?

found a guy locally that has vista 32-bit for cheap..

he says it's pre-activated. never bought or heard of pre-activated versions of windows..

someone care to fill me in?

that's what I was thinking.. i'm going to pass more than likely unless he wants to meet in person.. i just wasn't sure if a pre-activated version was legit..

oh well

or you might get really lucky and it could be a volume license edition.. i have XP Pro VOL from my old job, no activation....i would imagine that's how VOL versions of vista would be also.

ms did away with vl on vista. they now use Multiple Activation Key (MAK) or Key Management Service (KMS) key.

On the contrary, VL still exists, except only in OEM form and requires said BIOS hacks. The OEM VL doesn't use MAK/KMS.

maybe for dell or hp. try getting that enterprise agreement for a medium sized company.
