Eastern to Pacific is a 3 hour difference. 2500 miles in 5.5 hours is only 450MPH groundspeed, top speed of a G650 is 600MPH.

LA to NY would be an 8.5 hour flight.

There might only be a 2.5 hour difference from when you take-off in NY to when you land in LA, when you account for time zones, but in most people's books, it would not be considered a 2.5 hour commute when you have to sit on the plane for 5-6 hours.
