When I was at Alabama 15 years ago we had a "preacher" that would come out and do the same thing. He basically stood out on the side of the student center where there was alot of foot traffic and made as big of inflammatory remarks as he could. Called sororities sluts. Called fraternity guys masturbators and on and on. He apparently traveled around to different campuses doing this.

Now, I'm a Christian (not a very good one at the time) and I just thought the guy was an idiot. Most everyone that stood around listening to him were giggling and laughing and not taking him seriously in the least. A couple of people half-heartedly tried to debate him but...well...you just can't debate stupid.

I guess there are some people out there (may even be the same guy) who still do this. Why..I don't know because it does nothing for Christianity.

Sure it does. It makes normal Christians look like complete idiots...

<--Christian who is tired of Campus Crusaders pestering him...

QFT!! It makes me sick too because now everyone has this image of a loud, condeming, street preacher as what a true Christian is. Which is very far from the truth. It makes it very difficult to talk to people about Christ as well because they automatically assume this is what you're about to do.

My wife was an Anthropology major and had written several published papers (in scholorly journals) about Religion and Christianity. One day she was walking (with a shirt on that said "I'm not gay but my girlfriend is") to class and one of these bible thumper said, "Leviticus 18:22 'Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. '" Her reply was, "Doesn't mention women together, guess even god thinks that's hot"

As for the op, It's good to see "preachers" following in Jesus's steps. I remeber that bible story where Jesus was walking around calling people whores and what not... oh wait  If you're gonna be a holy roller, at least follow the god damn messiah.

Most of those crackpots will just sue the school. Its pretty lame. I would love to have one of them throw the first punch, I would break him. If someone attacks you is it fair game to punch to the throat, hyper extend knee, shatter elbow and break their hand. Or would that be considered too overkill?

Gotta love internet tough guys.

The preacher dude shouldn't have been on private property, he should be arrested for tresspassing if he is going around harrasing students.

If the school is a public (which most likely it is) then they cannot deny anyone from being on campus unless there is a reason (like prior offense etc). To stop people from doing this all over campus most schools have a designated "free speech zone" where you can pretty much go and say what you want. Obviously this guy got we he deserved and shouldn't be allowed back, but he had every right to be there in the first place.

Extremists on any issue are usually this stupid. They get wrapped up in their beliefs and don't actually think about what they're doing. This applies to every religion, atheists, pro-lifers, pro-choicers, Republicans, Democrats, and every other divisive group you can think of. Once you become so strongly allied with one side of an issue that you refuse to hear anything to the contrary, you're lost.

I'm all talk, I'm way too nice to do that. Sometime I just get upset by these guys. It would like to read about some 15 yr old mangling some would be attackers though. " Would be attackers mangled by 15 yr black belt w/pics!" Awesome headline IMO.
