Pre-PDC Exclusive: Windows Vista Product Editions Revealed...

anyone have any idea what its supposed to cost,

however isnt that stupid thing where you cant display HD content on your monitor unless its an approved monitor included in vista?

7 Editions??? And that doesn't include the bloody server? And they aren't adding features, they're cutting out old ones.

Pro Edition: compatibility with non-Microsoft networking protocols (Netware, SNMP, etc.), Remote Desktop, IIS Web server,
Lol.. It's compatable with HTTP! That's worth $300 in itself  Maybe you'll have to buy a licence for Windows Firewall to unblock a port.

And not only do we have a Small business server, but a OS for small business? Are they killing shared fax service for pro editions?

Or starting to make people pay for the features they want. As somebody else put it, it's like toppings on a pizza. I would like a small Windows with Green Peppers, Remote Desktop and Web Server please.

I like it for the corporate environment!

get enterprise for IT, traveling users, and managers.
get professional for everyone else.

It seems to me, the ultimate edition is the bloatware version....

🙂
