I would but I won't put down that sort of money without an upgrade path like BFG or EVGA offers.

Upgrade path is worthless imo. It took them this long just to get the new card out. If you're buying it now do you really think there will be a better model coming out in 90 days?
And by better model I don't mean an OC or Ultra edition since I'm pretty sure you can't upgrade to those anyways. And although I expect you already know I don't mean upgrading to a better ATI card should one come out since no company allows for that as far as I know.
