<< that mx 460 seems good value >>

Gainward GeForce4 MX460 64mb AGP VIVO DVI TwinView - Available to pre-order now priced @ £135.12 inc.VAT (inc. P&P in UK mainland only)

Agreed, if you can overclock this puppy by quite a bit. But we will have to see. Also IMHO the extra 64MB of ram is not worth the premium.

Gainward GeForce4 Ti-4400 128mb VIVO DVI TwinView - Available to pre-order now priced @ £233.82 inc.VAT (inc. P&P in UK mainland only)

1) What I want to know, is what will be the extra features when going from the MX460 to the Ti-4400? If it is just extra 64mb ram, ram and clock speed. Then I will want to get a card that can clock from MX460 to Ti-440. :p

2) £135.12 for the MX460 is a nice price. I am very interested to see how the MX460 actually compares to the KYRO III (when released)

The ti 440 is the full geforce4 nv25 chipset vs the mx 420/440/460 which is nv17 geforce2/3 based, mmm so tempting. iirc the ti 4400 is 275-300mhz core and 550mhz memory.

Those prices look good for we Brits however I`ll wait for some benchmarks so I can choose the right GF4 model.

Given that a Radeon 8500 can be had for around that or less, I'd say it's a poor value.

Daovonnaex, replies like that are retarded. Show me where I can buy a RETAIL not LE Radeon 8500 for less than £135.12 inc.VAT !!! (in the UK)

The cheapest radeon I have seen in the UK is £211 which when compare to the geforce 4 440 at £233 I know where my money would go.

Well with the former you're getting a crippled GF3, and with the latter you are actually getting a GF4. They are not based on the same core at all. The GF4 will kick the crap out of the GF4MX no matter how much you overclock it. The GF4 has 4 pipes, the MX has 2. The GF4 has the next gen nfiniteFX engine, the MX doesn't even have all of what makes up the original nfinitefx engine. The MX460 might be able to overcome the GF3 Ti200 but that's about as far as the MX's are gonna get performance wise.

For the £20 extra, you would be getting a better card now, and better drivers now!! But what do I know ?

Zeeliv, thanx for the answer. Looks like the GeForce4 Ti-4400 will be the one to go for, and try to clock to the higher spec card.

When converting any prices from £ to $ remember that us brits pay an extra 17.5% VAT, so cards in America (and probably everywhere else for that matter) will be a fair bit cheaper
