Wed night debate, Obama's 401K proposal is no doubt going to be the center of the discussion.
Mccain will call it reckless, and Obama will offer it as a helping hand.
What Obama needs to do is push the difference between Mccain's rant against
any 401K withdrawals, and Obama's 401K proposal.
Compare it to the 700bill bailout.
Since the 700bill bailout, banks and the market still remain shaky.
We are told this 700bill solution will take ?time? to work, ?time? to turn things around.
That this is not an over night solution, they say.
Well? Obama needs to compare that to his 401K proposal.
When you have a family facing foreclosure, maybe due to a job loss/change
or the spouse?s job loss/change, foreclosure comes along very quickly.
It doesn?t take long, especially for all those living paycheck to paycheck, it doesn?t
take long to fall two or three months behind in those house payments.
And at three months, the banks come down hard and fast to foreclose!!!
Banks are set on track to foreclose...period.
Most or many families that suffer a job loss will in most cases find another job.
Probably earning less than before, but still making progress in starting a new job.
All a family needs is a little ?time? to catch up. Time, just like the bailout people
want us to grant them with the 700bill. Time for things to reflect a positive turn around.
If this is good enough for the wall street, why not main street???
Obama's needs to make people understand using ones 401K is intended as a helping hand.
A helping hand to keep that family in their home. To give them a little needed recovery ?time?.
Sure, Mccain will rant that using ones 401K is dangerous and risky. But in letting people use their 401K now, to save their home, they can then later address making up that 401K reduction once their home is saved and things stabilize a little for that family facing foreclosure.
JUST LIKE THE GOV WANTS FROM US... A LITTLE TIME!
It is far better to raid your 401K NOW, to save your home!!!
And then, focus later down the road to correct your retirement goals i.e. 401K.
You can expect Mccain to make Obama's 401K proposal a major issue in the debates wed night. But unlike Mccain, most people on main street do not have 13 homes.
If one home is foreclosed on, they do not have the option to just move to home #2 of 13.
Again, it should be so easy for Obama to again draw the difference that while Mccain is focused on trickle down economics, Obama is focused on getting people real help...NOW!
Lets hope Obama can make this crystal clear. Its simple.
Obama gets it, and Mccain never will.
Mccain will call it reckless, and Obama will offer it as a helping hand.
